this morning, while driving, i noticed a homemade sign taped to the rear windshield of a truck in the adjacent lane; it read: "don't believe everything you think." i thought then of the ways in which self-defeating thoughts can become self-fulfilling prophecies. i remain fascinated by the unexpected bits of wisdom found on the road.

I am always amazed at what we learn on the road and what we ponder -- there are so many things to see when we "look".

As for self-fulfilling, I suppose I believe that. Whenever I'm at one of my son's hockey games and players will say before the game, "oh we're going to lose to these guys" I remind them that if they go into it with that attitude, that's probably what will happen...gives them something to think about!

I have this great church near my house that always has great sayings on their church sign. This week it said "If we have to walk on thin ice, why not dance?"

They always make me smile!

One of my favorites I've seen here around Denver: "All who wander are not lost." K.

I've been thinking a lot about self-fulfilling prophecies lately. See it. Believe it. Make it so.
