weekend in review

'in the flow' moment: a break from writing; indulgence in an 'at-home spa day'; silky salt scrub and sweet-smelling incense. encouraging moment: a personalized letter from a notable journal; its affirming content; i am right on time. hilarious moment: classic 'george behavior' on seinfeld. wishful moment: to be a lyrical dancer or a track and field athlete.

Were you taking a nap under your desk? :-)

Yes, you can tell I relate to "lazy" George moments. :-)

AH, a fellow lawyer turned writer, I see! There are many of us! I teach part time over at George Mason University in the undergraduate department and the professors at the MFA program are always telling me that the large majority of their students are disgruntled lawyers! Well given that the Washington DC area has the largest per capita ratio of lawyers in the nation, it's not so hard to believe! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love the title of your blog and would love to know what Egusi soup is. I'm loving your blog and will definitely be dropping by often!

hi ello,

thank you for coming by! you know, it doesn't surprise me that lawyers are writing creatively. i imagine both practices allow connection with the human spirit, through words. :)

That was a lovely way to say it! And here I was just thinking we were writers because we are so wordy! I like your way better!

May I ask if you are working on a novel? Do you blog about your writing? is that something I can dig in your archives about or do you prefer not to. I love the voice of your writing in your posts and I'm sure your stories must be lovely. I'd love to learn more.

hi ello!

thank you for the kind words.

i blog indirectly about writing; more process than substance. since committing to this path, i've found that the work is as much about what happens off the page as on. i blog to note the transformation. yes, i'm in the early stages of my novel.

if you type "writing" into the search box, all related posts should appear.

i'm about to read more on your blog!
