the way of things

as of late: the things that have worked out are those i decided to just let go. once i removed my focus, and stopped worrying about the outcome, these matters seemed to resolve themselves within a short time.

i am truly understanding what is often required is the ability to let things be. i trust each thing that comes, no matter its initial appearance, is simply in its divine season--the natural universal flow that brings just what is needed.

Ah, this post brings me to one of the best pieces I've advice I've ever been given -- when in doubt, don't.

"when in doubt, don't."
how wise. i think because our world generally measures success by the things we "do" most of us are afraid to just "be".

You are so right. Our culture had me in such a "do something, even if it's wrong" mindset that for a long time, if something wasn't quite right, my instinct was that I had to -- do something. My late father was the one who gave me that advice -- when in doubt, don't -- and it's been so powerful for me. The idea that often, the best thing to do is nothing has been useful more times than I can say.

The way of things, the flow, is quite wonderful for me right now. My task, a hard one for me, is not to question it, not to look for the lead lining in the silver cloud. Thanks for the reminder! Blessings.
